I haven't been to a concert since I don't know 7th grade?! Pathetic. So going to Ingrid was a must! She was PHENOMENAL.

Memorial Weekend

Apparently it's a bit of a tradish for my wardies to spend Memorial weekend at Duck Beach, NC (Outer Banks). So that's just how I spent my Memorial holiday. Friday Toby, Rachet, and I headed out late at night... 10 pm. It didn't feel like a long car ride until about 3 am. That was my breaking point. I just wanted sleep but the rules of being copilot specifically state that you cannot fall asleep. But Toby was kind and told me to just go to sleep. So I did. For like an hour. We got to Duck Beach at about 4:30 am, found the hotel and got instructions by the desk lady to park and watch the sunrise from an awesome spot that only the locals know about. We aren't locals so we didn't find this awesome spot. We gave up and just parked and slept until our belly's woke us up with gurgling noises. After brekkie it was beach time! In fact I have no exciting stories to tell because our whole time was spent at the the beach. And when we weren't at the beach we were in our hotel (motel, holiday iiiiiiiiiin)  room watching murder mystery shows. Monday we spent our morning and early afternoon saying our bitter goodbye's to the beach. The beach was so upset that we were leaving that it decided to keep my 'Murica sunglasses as a souvenir. It was kinda rude but totes acceptable since I was leaving so abruptly. When I come back OBX I better get those sunglasses back! ;)

SNL: CHECK

I MADE IT. I finally made it.

Once again, I sweet talked one of my friends, Liz, into standing line in with me to see Saturday Night Live. It's the season finale and Andy Samberg is hosting. ANDY FREAKING SAMBERG, I LOVE HIM. I love basically anyone from the old SNL crew. Luckily, Liz's brother and his lovely wife live in the city so waiting in line this time around wasn't too bad since we had a place to sleep. We got in the RIGHT line this time. I learned and asked the girls in front of us. Waiting in line this time was not too terrible. It was cold, but not December cold. There was also a milk truck that parked right by us and gave out free hot chocolate. #winning
We got in line at 2:30 am and waited out our destiny until 7:40 pm when we were comfortably seated inside Studio 8H.

Colin Jost came out and talked with the crowd and pointed out where the worst seats in the studio was.. Which was exactly where I was sitting. Yes, it wasn't the best seat but I'd make do with it since I was FINALLY seeing SNL in the flesh. Well worth it. It was such a great show and so many people who I freakin' love came and made an appearance. Let me just take a second to name drop: Seth Myers, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig, Fred Armisen, 2 Chainz, Paul Rudd, and of course Andy Samberg.

I don't think I could have smiled any more than I was. I don't know if I could have laughed any harder. It was the best show. I wish that I could have gotten a picture but they were forbidden. And in this case I didn't want to risk it to the get the biscuit.

Wristbands. That's how you know you made it.

After the show ended, I was walking out to the elevator and Bobby Moynihan, Bill Hader, and Keenan Thompson walked right past me. Guys, I whaffed the same air as all these comical geniuses. I kept it cool and didn't scream when they walked past me, unlike the girl right behind me. I think the only thing that could have made this moment even better is if Colin Jost or Brooks Wheelan walked past me. I actually think my heart would have literally stopped so maybe it's a good thing they didn't.

After the show Liz and I were walking back to the metro and we saw yet another celebrity. Sebastian Stan, who plays the mad-hatter on Once Upon a Time and Bucky (the Winter Soldier) on Captain America. He is even more of a babe in real life.

Let me just end this post with the obvious, I LOVE NEW YORK CITY!
